Advanced optics, integrated imaging and intuitive controls bring new examination capabilities to Dr. Leonard Achiron’s Hapeville practice.
HAPEVILLE, Ga., October 22, 2026 — Atlanta Vision Cataract and Laser Center has added the Haag-Streit Elara 900 slit lamp to its practice, bringing advanced examination technology to the team serving patients in Hapeville and the greater Atlanta area. Dr. Leonard Achiron, OD, selected the instrument through Marco Lombart, an Advancing Eyecare company.
“Investing in technology is about giving our team the tools to provide thoughtful, thorough care,” said Dr. Achiron. “The Elara 900 brings detailed visualization and imaging together in a way that supports our examinations and helps us share what we’re seeing with patients. We’re excited to bring this technology to our practice.”
A closer look at eye health
A slit lamp is a specialized microscope that allows an eye care professional to examine the eye in detail. Used during routine and medical eye examinations, it helps clinicians assess structures such as the cornea, iris and lens.
The Elara 900 combines Swiss-made optics with projector-based illumination and integrated image and video capture. Together, these features support detailed visualization and documentation, giving clinicians a way to capture what they observe during an examination.
Technology designed around the examination
Alongside its optical and imaging capabilities, the Elara 900 features customizable examination presets and motorized height and magnification adjustments. These controls allow clinicians to move between examination settings with fewer manual adjustments.
Inclined eyepieces and an accessible control layout support the examiner’s working position, while a spacious headrest and adjustable chinrest help accommodate patients during the examination.
“Helping practices find technology that fits their needs is one of the most rewarding parts of my role,” said Vince Paone, Area Sales Manager at Marco Lombart. “It’s been a pleasure working with Dr. Achiron to bring the Elara 900 to his practice, and we look forward to supporting his team as they put its capabilities to work.”
